Worship Services

September through Mid-June Worship Service

8:30 - Traditional Service
11:00 - Informal Service

The 8:30 service follows the traditional order of service found in the new ELCA hymnal, Evangelical Lutheran Worship and is accompanied by the choir, organ and piano.

The 11:00 worship service is an informal liturgical pattern. Holy Communion is celebrated each week. Nursery care is available for pre-kindergarten children at both services. Education Hour begins at 10:00 a.m. Coffee and goodies are served between services.

Summer Worship Service
Summer Worship Service begins 6/17/2012

9:30AM - Worship, followed by coffee hour

Join us at Kent Lutheran Church for our Summer Service. Our summer service allows the fellowship of our congregation for the Summer. Please join us at 9:30AM on Sunday mornings for the Summer to raise your voice in song and prayer. Come join us as we worship together!

Music Ministry

Worship Choir

Our Kent Lutheran Church Worship Choir sings at the 8:30AM Service following a more traditional feel to the service. We invite you to practice with us on Thursday Evenings at 7PM in the sanctuary.

Festival Choir

During the Christmas Season the Festival Choir is built to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The annual outreach festival combines choir, bells and stories of Christ's birth. For more information on the Festival Choir, please contact the church office or Sean Haley, the Director of the Festival Choir.

Sean Haley, Director

The music ministry at KLC has a long tradition. Beginning in 1920, about the time when English was first spoken in worship services,  a choir was formed and called 'The Senior Choir'. Although the faces have changed throughout the years, our choir remains a strong and vibrant part of our congregational worship experience.

We sing anthems and psalms led by organ or piano, often with additional instrumentalists including guest performances of different musical talents within our congregation including past performances of flute, clarinet, trombone, guitar, bagpipes, and brass quartet. We also join with several community church choirs for the annual Kent Church Choir Night, a 75-year-old tradition.

Acclamation Ringers

Jane Wilson, Director

Kent Lutheran Church has a Handbell program for adults and teens. We have five octaves of Malmark bells and four octaves of Malmark handchimes.  We ring at the early service about once a month plus concerts.  The Acclamation Ringers is made up of dedicated adults and high school students.  We meet after service on Sunday mornings for our practice.  We participate in the Greater Puget Sound Handbell Festival in May.  We also have quartets which ring at the first service.  There is always room for one more ringer to join with our music-making.  With enough interest, there is the possibility of Handbells for children.  Call the church for more information.
