Kent
Lutheran Church
is a nurturing faith community living and celebrating the accepting
love of Christ.

Church
- Celebrating Faith
We celebrate that God is gracious and merciful slow to anger
and abounding in steadfast love. Jesus Christ, in life, death and
resurrection, came as God among us and offers us forgiveness and
newness in our living. The Holy Spirit is God present in us and
through us for our own growth in faith and for giving away the love
of Jesus in word and deed.
At
Kent Lutheran
we nurture faith through enriching worship and music, children and
youth gatherings, and adult ministry experiences. Adults participate
in faith conversations through Sunday education classes, Master
Builders monthly Bible study for men, Women on the Way activities, small group
studies, topical forums, music ministries, and service
opportunities.

- Celebrating Caring
Caring actions at and through
Kent Lutheran
vary from being the site of Kent Community Supper (a weekly dinner
serving 150+ with no one turned away) to offering one-to-one
personal crisis support through trained Stephen Ministry Caregivers.
Our Prayer Ministry encompasses opportunities to ask for prayer, to
pray for others, to participate in Open
for Prayer events, and to knit or receive Prayer Shawls. Also
our
Prayer
Garden
is a wonderful place to visit and is open for all.
Other creative service
opportunities include an emergency feeding program providing
homeless snack packs and baby packs,
classes for English as a Second Language, semi-annual Unsales
(giving our household items away at no cost), holiday gifts and food
baskets, youth-sponsored service projects, hosting H.O.M.E. (a
shelter for 30 men) two months during the year and jail visitation.

- Celebrating Community
KLC is a vibrant faith
community in the midst of the larger community of
Kent. We are located in the downtown core which provides unique
advantages for being a place where people can converge, communicate,
and contribute. The community we build with one another in ministry
and mission is freely offered to those among us and around us.
The KLC campus is used
by two ethnic churches, “Christian Church Strong Foundation”
(Ukrainian) and “Lo Mejor Del Trigo” (Latino) and numerous
non-profit groups such as E.C.E.A.P (Early Childhood Education and
Assistance Program), KYFS (Kent Youth and Family Services) Parenting
Classes, A.A. (Alcoholics Anonymous), N.A. (Narcotics Anonymous),
Kent Valley Artists, Valley Rose Society and Lutheran Counseling
Network.
